Cinema Neuf is the student cinema and film club in Oslo. Since the beginning in 1989, we have offered a broad variety of movie experiences to the many students and other film fans in the capital. We currently have screenings every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm, in Lillesalen, Chateau Neuf as one of the clubs/societies at the Norwegian Student Society. Prices are normally 40kr for members and 60kr for non-members, but some screenings are free and some cost a little more. There is also a 25kr membership fee each term. Information about this can be found in our program.
Most of our films are either in English or with English subtitles, but not all. If you want to know about one specific screening and can’t find any information in our program, send us an email (blimed AT cinemaneuf DOT no) or contact us on Facebook and we’ll get back to you. Approximately half of our films are shown on good, old fashioned reels – show up any Thursday for that traditional experience. On Tuesdays we add to the cinema experience with something extra; debates and introductions, quizzes, free popcorn, collaborations with other student societies…
Want to join the club?
We at Cinema Neuf always have use for a helping hand. Our screenings are all organised by our wonderful volunteers, who work thematically in different groups – each with their own chosen topic. Joining one of these groups and becoming a part of the film club is a great way of making the most of your time in Oslo and make new friends who all share the love for film. Cinema Neuf is a social and friendly club. Email us or simply show up at one of our screenings and ask us for more information. You’re also very welcome to come along to our monthly club meetings, which thake place on the first Tuesday of every month.
We hope to see you at one of our events soon!
